The girls 1st haircuts!!

I decided it was finally time to get the girls first haircuts.  Samantha's was looking a little too much like a mullet :)  So we took both girls in, they were excited!  They had already seen Ben get a haircut before so they knew the drill.  They both did great and loved that they got to hold a toy, watch a movie, and get a sucker when they were done.  They put cute little braids in the girls hair.  I have to learn how to do that!

Picking tomatoes

A few pictures from one of our recent visits to Mankato..... I think it was fantasy football draft day.

 The kids learned how to pick tomatoes this year.  The only problem is that the girls still haven't totally mastered red/green colors so sometimes they pick the wrong ones :)  Too bad I can't get them to eat the tomatoes!  Mommy and daddy love to eat them, so thanks grandma and grandpa!

Apple Orchard

We took the kids to a nearby apple orchard recently.  We first took a tractor ride through the orchard and then back to taste and snack on some apples.  They also had some animals the kids liked and some hay to climb on.  They even had a wine tasting for mommy and daddy!!  We packed some food and had a picnic there too!

First Day of Preschool

Ben had his first day at Preschool last week.  He started on Wednesday and this year he is in the purple classroom with Miss Lori and Miss Cindy.  After the first day of preschool we went out for lunch to celebrate, and he ordered one of his favorites, pizza (takes after daddy on that one).  

 Ben was very excited to start preschool, although he was more excited to go to "lunch bunch" which just started this past Monday.  It's an extra hour after preschool and I pack him a lunch that he eats with his friends and then plays some more.  He ate every bite of what I packed him this week.  I think he has been going through a growth spurt, he has been eating like a horse lately!!

Fall Activities

Way behind on blog posts again, I'll work on them this week.  Our fall activities started last week.  We finally decided to put Ben in swimming lessons.  He had his second class tonight and did great.  He is learning to kick, back float, put his face in the water and hold his breath, in general just be comfortable and safe in the water.  I also signed him up for gymnastics for as an outlet for some of that boy energy.  There are two boys in the class and 8 girls.  He really liked it.  They got to jump, do balance exercise, and run around :)  Both activities are once a week.  More to posts to come soon on the first day of school pics and the apple orchard visit....
