Night out with the girls

Ben is on spring break this week so he went to have some special one on one time with Grandpa and Grandma T for a few days.  We took the opportunity to take the girls out for dinner to one of our favorite restaurants.  It's mexican and the kids love cheese chips and quesadillas and mommy and daddy love margaritas so everyone is happy :)  Allison loves the chips and salsa but you could tell the salsa was a little spicy for her....her nose was runny and she had a few tears coming from her eyes but that didn't stop her from eating a bunch more :)

A little Florida sunshine!

Two weeks ago I was blessed to get a mini girls getaway in Fort Meyers Florida.  A friend of mine has a family member that works for the Twins so we saw one of their spring training games against the Red Sox.  Day two we hung out by the pool reading our books and having a few tropical drinks :)  Day 3 we went to Barefoot Beach and spent all day looking and listening to the ocean while reading or walking along the beach.  The weather was absolutely gorgeous when I was there and I was wishing we could live there.  It was very depressing to come home and have it snow the following day :(  At least we didn't get the 16 inches they were originally predicting!

Pool playdate

Since it is spring break for us I have tried to plan some playdates to fill some of our open days.  We met   a friend of mine and her two kids (the oldest is about a month apart from Ben, the youngest a month apart from the girls).  We did a local indoor kiddie pool, only 2 feet deep with a slide.  They LOVED it!!  Just took them a few minutes to "warm up" to the water.  The girls hadn't been in a pool since last summer.

Party!

Last weekend we had a few of my girlfriends and their families over to our house for a little party.  Jake and Jack are the boys sitting in the girls booster chairs.  Jake loved the trains and Jack loved to take them apart :)

Easter Eggs

Last night we worked on dying the Easter eggs.  The kids all wanted to do their favorite colors.  Ben blue, Allison orange, and Samantha pink.  They turned out okay.  Organic/local eggs take don't take color quite the same as the usual eggs you get from Cub Foods.  I specifically got white ones (we usually get brown ones).  I recall a friend of mine that has chickens saying that eggs have a membrane of some kind on the outside which protects them.  You would never notice it unless you try to dye them in vinegar/dye I guess.  Regardless the kids loved it, but it was yet another opportunity for the kids to work on their patience as they didn't understand why it took several minutes for each egg to turn colors.

Snow Day!!

Tuesday is our day off/at home so the fact that everyone didn't have school didn't really affect us too much other than that Dad's night at preschool was rescheduled :(  Daddy worked from home so we all went out when it was time to clean out the driveway.  The kids had fun.  The only bummer for Ben is he couldn't slide down the hill on his sled very well since there was so much snow it stopped him half way down the hill!
