First Day of School

The day I have been dreaming about is finally here!  The day I could drop all 3 off at preschool.  I think I was so nervous/anxious/excited I couldn't sleep last night!

The kids had an orientation day on Monday morning.  We went to the yellow room to meet the girls teacher Miss Lynn (it is the same teacher Ben had the first year).  Then we headed over to the red room to meet Ben's teacher Miss Debi.  So today was the first official drop off school day.  I could tell Samantha was a little nervous, (she is always the one who says she will miss me when I leave) but she has a built in best friend which I reminded her of and that's a pretty special thing.  At school we did the curb side drop off, which they had seen big brother Ben do many times last year and they got out and went with their teacher like they had been doing it all their life :)

I always said I was going to go relax somewhere once I dropped them all off and have a morning cocktail but I did the opposite and went straight to the gym for a new class I just joined called "bootcamp".  I was fun and hard, but then I had to jump in the shower quick and be back to pick up the girls at 11:30.  2.5 hours goes by a lot faster than you think!

The girls are signed up for 3 mornings a week MWF from 9-11:30.  One day a week they will do something called "lunch bunch" when they stay until 12:45.  They are excited for this of course because they always heard about Ben doing it last year.  That doesn't start until next week.  Ben is in a full-day program on MWF which means he goes from 9-3pm.  I hope I didn't make a mistake when I picked this program for him, as it is lots of extra driving for me.  So pick the girls up at 11:30am, take them home make lunch, get ready for naps, and today they took nice long naps, which is now a little challenging because we have to go back and pick up Ben at 3pm.

They all said they loved it.  The girls liked playing outside on the playground and doing painting.  When I asked Ben what his favorite part was it was lunch and snack time :)  The kid likes to eat.  I got a few pictures from their teachers tonight, they are down below.  One bummer was daddy left for Portland this morning so he missed the first day but they all talked to him on the ipad tonight and told them about their day.  It was a busy day, I am glad we have a down day tomorrow before doing it again on Friday!

More summer fun....Labor Day weekend

Labor Day weekend we took the kids to the outdoor pool at the gym one last time before it closes for season and then another day got out the sprinklers.

Touch a Truck night in Chaska

We took the kids to the "Touch a Truck" event in Chaska mid August.  They got to look at and climb into a Firetruck, police car, snow plow, zamboni, backhoe, and many others.

Carver County Fair

Early August we took the kids to the Carver County Fair in Waconia.  They loved the rides and it was great there was no lines!  After the rides we checked out all the barns with animals.  We saw rabbits, chickens, turkeys, llamas, goats, sheep, cows, and horses.  After the kids shared a corn dog with daddy we went and check out the tractor equipment.  That was a big hit since they got to climb on 4-wheelers and big lawn mowers :)

Pool day at the sitters house

Sorry, time slipped away again since my last post.  Early August we spent an afternoon over at our sitters pool.  She lives right behind us and she and her mom invited the neighborhood over.  The kids had been wanting to go and swim in Audrey's pool.  It was great, we were the first to arrive so we the kids got lots of time to practice swimming in their lifejackets....and Ben wanted to go off the diving board!  I jumped off first to show how and then he did it by himself (with his lifejacket on).  He thought it was great, he did it over and over that day.  Later when everyone else showed up (all bigger/older kids than our kids) Ben watched them all jump off the diving board doing crazy tricks which was giving him ideas but I told him just stick with jumping straight in for now!
