Summer Fun

Now that it's finally warm out we have been doing some fun summer activities.  We have gotten out the water table and sprinkler for some water fun.  I tried to get out the kids pool today but the battery in the air pump was dead so I couldn't blow it up, we will save that for another day.  We have been on some walks/bike rides to the park, picnic in the new fort/playset, and made our first visit to the "big pool" at our gym on Father's day.

Family Wedding

This past weekend we had a family wedding on my side of the family, cousin Andy Grice.  It was an outdoor wedding at a mansion in Cottage Grove.   It was the first wedding the kids have been to.  I tried to tell them what it was i.e. mommy and daddy got married, had a wedding etc.  The kiddos did great, sat still and kept quiet for the ceremony.  They had many activities planned for the kiddos, outdoor games before dinner, little games to keep them occupied during dinner, special peanut free cookies for my kiddos (thank you cousin Amy!) and when it got dark glow in the dark fun.  The girls were pretty mesmerized when the bride and groom did their first dance :)  They were a little bummed more people weren't dancing but I danced with them a song or two.  I managed to get at least one decent picture of the kids all dressed up!  It took us all a few days to recover from staying up so late!

Preschool end of year Program

I am a little behind on this but finally got the video downloaded from Ben's spring end of year program at preschool.  He did awesome!  He wanted the girls to come watch him, they loved it.  He made some funny faces at the beginning sticking out his tongue (must be his way of warming up his vocals :) There was one part he lifted his shirt briefly but other than that, he was a rockstar.  Watch the video and see for yourself!

T-ball and team Goldfish

Monday nights you can find us down the street at Lion's Park for T-ball.  The first week was practice and this past week was the first "game".  A game consists of each team going through the line up twice, no outs, everyone gets on base.  Ben does good with the hitting.  Playing the field is another thing, he isn't good at paying attention to the batter.  He likes playing in the dirt a little more.  Hopefully that will improve as he enjoys it more.  The girls enjoy walking up and down the bleachers many times and cheering on Ben and neighbor Brayden who is also on team Goldfish.

Ben is the one on the end drinking out of the blue cup

This might have been a strike but look at how hard he is concentrating!

Happy Birthday 39th Daddy!!

For Chris's birthday we took a bike ride to the park with our new sports equipment.  It's called a "tag along bike".  Ben did great!  We rode down to the park, played, had a picnic, and then came back and I made cake and ice cream.  The kids all sang "Happy Birthday to Daddy".  They LOVE birthdays :)
